The Mexican band Allison, standard bearer of Latin American punk-rock, returns to Spain to rock Madrid’s Botanical Garden with their most ambitious show to date: Euforia. On June 29, as part of the Las Noches del Botánico series, they will share the stage with the Americans Ha*Ash, in an evening that promises fire, nostalgia and new stories.
🔥 Two decades of intensity… and a new sonorous skin
With more than 20 years of experience, Allison has not only survived the volatility of alternative rock, but has evolved to become one of its regional references. Far from being pigeonholed, the band led by Erik Canales returns to the scene with a more mature, more cinematic and -yes, also darker- visual and sonic concept.
“Euforia”, which has already rocked stages in Mexico, Bolivia, Peru, Argentina and Chile, now lands in Europe with dates also in Dublin and London, making it clear that Allison’s punk scream knows no borders.
🧛♂️ “Orfeo”: punk-rock with Greek tragedy.
The great novelty of the live performance is “Orfeo”, their latest single. Here, Allison reinterprets the classic myth from his dark and contemporary imaginary: Orpheus, personified by Canales, fails to save his beloved and ends up trapped in the underworld with Hades. A poetic and tragic twist that marks the beginning of a new stage for the group, moving away (without denying it) from the adolescent spirit that catapulted them.
With sharp riffs, dense atmosphere and an increasingly ambitious production, Allison dares to discomfort, thrill and seduce in the same song.
📀 “Everything’s on”: vinyl reissue for collectors
Coinciding with this tour, Subterfuge Records has released for the first time on vinyl “Todo está encendido” ( 2016), one of the band’s most listened to albums, with more than 55 million plays on Spotify alone. The physical edition is now available at the Subterfuge Shop.
