Ángel Stanich returns with “Os traigo amor”, a radioactive lullaby for turbulent times.

Ángel Stanich is back. After more than three years without releasing new songs -and a full year of spiritual retreat- the most charismatic hermit of national indie breaks his silence with “Os traigo amor”, a kind of radioactive lullaby disguised as an eighties pop song that combines irony, nuclear energy and geopolitical criticism.

☢️ The most surreal comeback of the year

It is no coincidence that the first preview of his next album is inspired by one of the most delirious episodes of The Simpsons (the one in which Mr. Burns appears luminous in the forest due to radiation). Nor is it a coincidence that Stanich relates it to a real visit, in his childhood, to the Santa María de Garoña nuclear power plant, which ended in a bus accident.

This is how Stanich turns absurd anecdotes into material of high lyrical and sonorous density. “Os traigo amor” sounds like classic pop filtered through a reactor of irony and psychedelia. With a danceable beat, echoes of Fleetwood Mac, Al Stewart, My Morning Jacket or even Dire Straits, and “plutonium” backing vocals, Stanich does what he knows best: turn the conventional song on its head with sarcasm, criticism and tenderness.

“Between magical realism and science fiction,” he says himself. And he is absolutely right.

🎛️ Home production, collective soul

The song has been co-produced by Stanich himself with Juan Torán, his new sound ally. In addition, there are collaborations such as the sax of Carolina Aráoz and the voices of Marenitas and Miguel Rodríguez, creating a sound universe as catchy as it is conceptual.

🚀 And now… when does the album arrive?

Angel Stanich’s fourth album has no official date or title yet, but “Os traigo amor” is his letter of introduction. If this is just the appetizer, we can expect an album that combines criticism, delirium and expansive musicality. A new episode in the musical filmography of an artist who never follows predictable paths.
