The roar of the engines is mixed with synthesizers, epic strings and high-caliber vocals. The F1 movie, which will hit theaters on June 27, 2025 starring Brad Pitt, is not only set to redefine sports cinema: it is also on its way to becoming a sonic benchmark.

Hans Zimmer at the wheel of sound

There is no margin for error when it comes to emotions on a grand scale. That’s why Joseph Kosinski (director of Top Gun: Maverick) once again placed his trust in Hans Zimmer, who orchestrates a score that channels tension, speed and redemption. The German composer mixes orchestral elements with digital sounds that evoke engines, box radios and vertigo.

An album with a name of its own: F1: The Album

If the movie is aiming for a box office podium, the soundtrack wants to do the same in the charts. Produced by Kevin Weaver (Atlantic Records), F1: The Album brings together a grid of artists that mark the present of pop, hip-hop and R&B:

  • Doja Cat and Don Toliver lead with “Lose My Mind,” a title track that intertwines the emotional tension of the film with beats that sound like something out of a late-night racetrack.
  • Rosé (BLACKPINK), Ed Sheeran, Tate McRae and Burna Boy also contribute unreleased songs with a cinematic flavor.
  • Zimmer’s work merges in several of these tracks, creating a hybrid between song and score that transcends formats.

A film that smells of adrenaline and sounds of glory

F1 doesn’t just show racing: it tells the story of Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a former driver who returns to the grid to mentor young Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). Filmed at real circuits such as Silverstone and Monza during official Grand Prix races, the visual realism extends to sound, with the sound of real single-seaters incorporated into the aural design.

The premiere

The film will arrive in theaters in the United States and Spain on June 27, 2025. Its global release will begin on June 25. It will also be available in IMAX format, ideal for experiencing both the visuals and the music in all their magnitude.
