Rock in Spain continues to beat strongly, and sometimes, that beat becomes an earth-shattering thud. That’s what Vértize has done, a band that bursts from Madrid with a debut that is not satisfied with just sounding: it wants to leave a mark. And they are achieving it.

Behind this “zarpazo” there is a name that needs no introduction: Iñaki “Uoho” Antón, legendary guitarist (Extremoduro, Platero y Tú) and now godfather of this new project. This is not just a symbolic endorsement. Uoho has supported the band since their first steps and has produced their first album in his studio “Pértika 3”, in Bilbao, with final mixing by Aitor Ariño in Lorentzo Records. The result is a presentation letter that sounds raw, alive and without concessions.

Rock with narrative

In 2024, Vértize not only released its first three singles. It did it in a cinematic way: three music videos that work as chapters of the same story, a kind of musical series in audiovisual format. “Ninfa del Kas”, “Punto de Colisión” and “El Vendaval” show an emotional narrative, a coherent staging and a careful aesthetic that goes beyond the musical.

This approach has been a masterstroke. In times of rapid consumption, Vértize invites you to stay, to look, to listen and to connect. Audiovisual is not just an add-on: it is part of the heart of the project.

“Redemption”: when Uoho enters the scene.

At the beginning of 2025, the band releases “Redención”, a single that is much more than a new song. It is the first song in which Iñaki Uoho collaborates directly as a guest guitarist. In its first month alone, the song surpassed 200,000 plays. This is no coincidence.

The song condenses Vértize’s DNA: dense guitars, sharp lyrics, and an emotional development that catches without gimmicks. This band is not a pose. It is attitude.

A live show that will lift the audience

Vértize has also been one of the revelations in the 2024 venue circuit. Their tour -still in progress- has passed through reference stages in Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona and Seville, with an audience that does not arrive by chance, but by word of mouth and the forcefulness of their live performance.

There is energy, yes, but also something less usual: complicity on stage. Those who have seen them repeat it: Vértize is authentic. You can feel it in every riff, in every glance between the musicians, in every moment in which the audience stops being spectators to be part of something that happens only there, in that instant.

Change of stage and first album

In the middle of 2025, Vértize signed with La Oficina Producciones, one of the platforms that are betting the most on national talent. This alliance marks the beginning of a new, more professional stage, with a clear horizon: the release of his first album, titled “Delta”, scheduled for the end of this year.

“Delta” promises to be the definitive blow on the table. Not a summary of what has been done so far, but the real beginning of everything that is to come. The band has confirmed that it will be accompanied by a new presentation tour, with a more ambitious production and an even more careful stage proposal.

Who are Vertize?

The core of the band is formed by Jose Roa (vocals and guitar) and Alberto “Janfri” de la Mata (guitar), both with a background in A ContraVerso. They are joined by NJ Cardoso on bass and Dani Díaz on drums. A well-oiled quartet, with a clear idea: to make rock with identity, without nostalgia, but with respect to the school they come from.

Vertize doesn’t ask permission, it leads the way

It is not every day that a band comes along that achieves what Vértize has achieved in less than two years: to build a solid proposal, to have the backing of a legend, to be played on Rock FM and Radio 3, and to fill venues without even having released their first album. All this without imposture, without repeated formulas, without depending on algorithms.

At a time when many doubt the future of rock, Vértize does not enter into this debate. They prefer to make noise -the good kind- and let the music speak for itself.

And boy, does he talk.
