An unexpected musical encounter! Rock legends Post Malone and Eddie Vedder joined forces in a benefit concert to delight audiences with acoustic versions of iconic songs.
On the evening of February 17, at the Nearest Green Distillery in Shelbyville, Tennessee, the two artists performed at the Reportin’ For Duty event, a tribute to actor and comedian Leslie Jordan. With acoustic guitars in hand, they performed soulful versions of Pearl Jam’s “Better Man” (1994) and Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” (1989).
The purpose of the concert was to raise funds for the EB Research Partnership, an organization founded by Vedder and his wife Jill, which supports research on the skin disease Epidermolysis
For Vedder, this week has been a busy one:
- Pearl Jam announced their new album “Dark Matter” and released the title track as a single. The album will be released on April 19 and you can pre-order it now.
- The band also announced a major world tour that will span North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia from June to November.
- Two major concerts in the United Kingdom stand out: Manchester’s Co-Op Live on June 25 and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on June 29.
For his part, Post Malone:
- He opened the Super Bowl last week with an acoustic rendition of “America the Beautiful.”
- He will appear in the remake of the film “Road House” alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.
- He will collaborate on the song “Fortnight” from Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” due out April 19.
This unexpected duet between two great artists demonstrates the magic that happens when music unites different generations and styles. We look forward to more collaborations like this in the future!
We don’t have those images but you can enjoy this solo version of Post Malone.
