Charismatic U2 frontman Bono will open a new window into his life and career with the release of Bono: Stories of Surrender, a documentary coming to Apple TV+ on May 30, 2025. Based on his hit one-man show and autobiographical book Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, the film promises an in-depth and visually innovative look at the legendary Irish musician’s career.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Andrew Dominik(The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Blonde), the documentary is a production of RadicalMedia and Plan B Entertainment, Brad Pitt‘s company.
A life story told through music
The documentary is described as a “vivid reinvention” of the show Stories of Surrender: An Evening of Words, Music and Some Mischief…, in which Bono has intimately shared his experiences as a son, husband, father, activist and rock star.

The return of Surrender, now in a new edition
Along with the documentary, a new paperback edition of his autobiography Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story will be released. This version has been updated to reflect the structure of the one-man show and will feature a new introduction written by Bono, as well as a special cover inspired by the documentary.
