BALA: A cry of rebellion and energy from Spain

In the current musical panorama, where uniformity and superficiality seem to dominate, BALA emerges as a breath of fresh air, a female duo that defies the norms and breaks with the established molds. Formed by Anx (guitar and vocals) and V (drums and vocals), BALA is more than a band, it is a declaration of intentions, a cry of rebellion and energy that resonates strongly from Spain.

Its history dates back to 2013, when two friends, united by their passion for music, decided to get together to simply enjoy the creative process and share their energy with the world. From the beginning, their style was characterized by an explosive mix of intense rock and grunge, with touches of stoner, hardcore and metal.

Their raw and visceral sound, loaded with distortion and attitude, soon caught the attention of the underground scene. In 2015, they released their first album, “Human Flesh”, under the Matapadre label. This album marked the beginning of an upward trajectory that would take them to stages all over the world.

In 2017, they released their second album, “Lume”, also with Matapadre. With this album, they consolidated their unique style and gained even more recognition in the national and international scene. His music, charged with intensity and emotion, resonated with more and more audiences, captivating them with his infectious energy and direct, unabashed message.

In 2021, they took a major leap forward by signing with the Century Media label for the release of their third album, “Maleza”. This album marked a turning point in their career, consolidating them as one of the most important female rock bands in Spain. With “Maleza”, BALA explored new sounds and textures, without losing its raw and rebellious essence.

His most recent work, “Besta”, released in 2024 under the PIAS label, is a statement of strength and maturity. With this album, BALA reaffirms its position as a unique and unrepeatable band, capable of defying expectations and breaking barriers through its honest and powerful music.

Throughout his career, BALA has shared the stage with big names in rock, both in Spain and abroad. They have participated in festivals such as Stoned and Dusted in the Mojave Desert, California, and Rock al Parque in Bogota in 2018, leaving an indelible mark on the audience with their electrifying and energetic shows.

With their visceral music, defiant attitude and empowering message, BALA has become a reference for new generations of female rockers. They are an example that rock has no gender, and that passion and talent can overcome any obstacle.

BALA is more than a band, it is a movement, a force that sweeps away everything in its path. They are the voice of a generation that is not silent, that fights for its dreams and that does not give up in the face of adversity.

If you are looking for music that makes you vibrate, that makes you feel alive, that makes you break the rules, then you must listen to BALA. They are the future of rock, and they are here to stay.

Sister Fury: “All Wrong”.

In the current music scene, where digital immediacy seems to reign, Hermana Furia bursts in with a fresh and groundbreaking proposal: a debut album on vinyl,“Todo Mal“, released in a limited and careful edition that becomes a collector’s item.

Far from lamenting the decline of the physical format, the band from Madrid has opted for a smart strategy: advance the release of the LP on its website and release one track a month on social networks. This move has generated anticipation and has allowed fans to enjoy his music before its official release.

Recorded at Garlic Records in late 2019,“Todo Mal” was affected by the pandemic, resulting in a two-year delay in its release. However, this setback has not slowed down the band, who are already working on their second album.

The album starts with“Grita con furia“, a direct and powerful song that grabs you from the first second. Nuria Furia‘s raspy voice, Pau C. Marcos ‘ punchy bass and Edu Molina ‘s sharp guitar (also producer) create an explosive atmosphere that invites you to scream along with them.

Throughout the twelve songs that make up the album, Hermana Furia explores different aspects of rock, from the most classic to the most modern, always with a dose of fury and rebellion. Songs like“Mentiras“,“Noche en vela” or“Estoy aquí” become anthems for a generation tired of injustice and looking to raise their voices.

Todo Mal” is an essential album for lovers of hard rock and music with a message. Hermana Furia consolidates itself as one of the most promising bands of the national scene, with an overwhelming live performance and a bright future ahead.

Their latest single“Puerta de Amor” released in 2023 is a cover of Nino Bravo’s song and follows in the wake of their previous work, but gradually reaching a greater maturity in their sound.
