Two years after “Cuatro chavales”, Carolina Durante returns with a new album under her arm and a first advance that has left us completely in love: “Elige tu propia aventura”.
With this song, the band from Madrid shows us their most intimate and reflective side, giving us a glimpse of the maturity and ambition that we will find in their next album.
“Elige tu propia aventura” is a slow and personal song, far from Carolina Durante’s usual sound. In it, Diego, singer and lyricist of the group, talks about nostalgia, responsibility and second chances.
The song’s lyrics are inspired by the “choose your own adventure” children’s books, of which Diego only remembers reading one in his childhood. Through this metaphor, the author reflects on real life, where there are no second chances and where the decisions we make have irreparable consequences.
The song is produced by Ali Chant, a renowned sound engineer who has worked with artists such as Yard Act, Dry Cleaning, Perfume Genius or John Parish. He also has the collaboration of David Grubb (Novo Amor, Lowswimmer) on instrumentation and Pete Judge (Massive Attack, The Kooks, Maika Makovski) on winds.
The music video for “Elige tu propia aventura” has been directed by Ismael de la Trinidad and Teresa Carril, and produced by Plaza by Little Spain. In it, we can see the band playing in a minimalist setting, while the images alternate with scenes from everyday life.
