Latin American heavy metal continues to renew itself from below, and in Montevideo a new proposal is beginning to take shape that bets on the classic essence of the genre without renouncing contemporary power. They are called Sigma X, and although their story has just begun, their sound discourse makes their intentions clear.

Formed in 2025, Sigma X was born from the creative reunion between Gabriel Fassini (vocals) and Santiago Giménez (guitar), two musicians with previous experience in the local Uruguayan scene. What begins as a natural connection between old acquaintances soon becomes a solid project, with its own identity and long-term ambition.

A complete formation, a defined sound

With the creative base already established, the band finishes consolidating with the incorporation of Nahuel Pereira on bass, Eliseo Cardozo on drums and Juve Alvarado on keyboards. This combination allows Sigma X to expand its sound palette and build a discourse that dialogues with classic heavy metal, but incorporates power metal nuances and a more epic atmosphere.

Far from scattered experimentation, Sigma X bets on structure, forcefulness and energy, understanding metal as a direct, technical and emotional language at the same time.

First discographic material on the way

Currently, the band is rehearsing intensely and preparing the production of their first album, a debut that will serve as an official letter of introduction inside and outside Uruguay. Although no specific details about the release have been revealed yet, the band is working with a clear idea: to sound true to their influences without falling into empty nostalgia.

The goal is to build songs that work both in the studio and live, with recognizable riffs, solid rhythmic bases and a vocal approach that reinforces the identity of the project.

Live as a natural next step

Parallel to the studio work, Sigma X is already preparing its first shows for next year, aware that metal is validated on stage. The band aims to present itself as a compact and forceful live proposal, capable of connecting with the audience from the first listen.

Montevideo, with its metal tradition and active scene, will be the first testing ground for a band that makes no secret of its intention to project itself beyond the local circuit.

Heavy metal from the south, no shortcuts

In a context where many proposals seek aesthetic shortcuts or prefabricated formulas, Sigma X positions itself from another place: work, coherence and respect for the genre. Heavy metal at its core, power metal in its energy, and an attitude that looks forward without complexes.

It is still too early to talk about major labels, but everything points to the fact that Sigma X wants to earn its place step by step, from rehearsal to the stage.

A band to follow closely

Sigma X represents that kind of projects that are born without media noise, but with a firm musical base and a clear vision. From Montevideo, heavy metal adds a new voice that understands the past, lives the present and prepares its future with patience.

There will be news soon.
. Stay tuned.
