Tame Impala redefines itself once again with its new song “End of Summer” and brings the end of the summer forward

By LoffMusic Editorial Staff – July 2025

When Kevin Parker announces new music under the alias of Tame Impala, the world listens. And no wonder: each new chapter in his discography represents a stylistic evolution, an inner search, a step further in modern psychedelia. This time is no different. With the premiere of his new single ‘End of Summer’, the Australian proposes a transition not only sonically, but conceptually. And the result, as expected, is hypnotic.

🎧 A new beginning: between rave and melancholy

End of Summer marks Tame Impala’s first release on Columbia Records. It is a song of more than seven minutes, loaded with electronic textures, emotional reverberations and an atmosphere reminiscent of an after party in the desert, when the dawn has not yet decided.

The track was previewed in early June at a surprise DJ set at Barcelona’s Nitsa club. “Do you guys want to hear a new Tame Impala song?” asked Parker to the audience. “After this, there’s no going back.”

And he was right. The track represents a decisive turn towards a more track-oriented sound, but without losing its lysergic and melodic essence. According to Parker himself, the project is being reformulated as a sort of “rave act from the primitive future”, where the pulses of electronica coexist with the soul of psychedelic rock.

🎬 Visuals and hidden details.

The music video, directed by Julian Klincewicz, accompanies the experience with a succession of grainy images, a mixture of live performance and visual fragments with a nostalgic home video feel. Everything breathes authenticity, imperfection and lo-fi beauty.

As if that wasn’t enough, on Instagram, Kevin hinted that this is just the beginning: he shared an image with a board full of song titles, including End of Summer. Although there is still no official confirmation, everything points to the fact that a fifth Tame Impala album is on the way.

🌀 From Barbie to Grammy: The Prolific Era of Kevin Parker

Since his last LP The Slow Rush (2020), Parker has not stopped. He composed Journey to the Real World for the soundtrack of Barbie (2023), produced Dua Lipa on Radical Optimism, collaborated with Gorillaz, Justice, Diana Ross and even remixed Elvis and Crowded House. This year he won his first Grammy for Neverender, along with Justice, in the Best Electronic Recording category.

And as if all this wasn’t enough, he has already confirmed an Australian tour with special DJ sets in December, opening for Justice with Busy P.
