Sara Baras bids farewell to Gran Vía with more than 20,000 tickets sold

The flamenco dancer and choreographer Sara Baras successfully ends the second season of her show “Alma” at the EDP Gran Vía Theater in Madrid. After the great reception during the first season in September last year, the artist from Cadiz hung the “sold out” sign from May 4 to June 4, extending the show for an additional week.

Alma” is, undoubtedly, one of the most celebrated shows of the dancer. Sara Baras all over the world, receiving the best reviews from the public and the specialized press in cities such as Sydney, Miami, New York, Washington or Budapest, where he also sold out his performances, which have been classified as historic by flamenco experts.

International media such as El Mundo commented the following: “With “Alma” she has drawn a flamenco portrait of the different individual identities of the bolero, which, added together, reflect the Hispanic-American identity, which brings us to the corollary of the double achievement of the artist from Cadiz. On the one hand, by discovering parallelism with her dancing, she has built her own identity, that of the mirror that reflects those attributes that make her the most international of all dancers today. And on the other hand, the one that she herself builds to adapt to the environment, a merit that only the chosen ones can prove.“.

Written, directed and choreographed by the artist herself, “Alma” fuses the melodies of the most recognized boleros with the most traditional flamenco “palos” (flamenco forms) and features the special collaboration of other great flamenco artists such as Juana la del Pipa, Israel Fernández, Rancapino Chico, Alex Romero and José Manuel Posada “Popo”.

The renowned artist will perform again surrounded by her unbeatable corps de ballet and a talented cast of musicians, under the musical direction of Keko Baldomero, continuing his Spanish tour at Huelva and La Línea de la Concepción before traveling to present “Alma” in London and start his summer tour.
