The industry machinery is roaring again: the 2026 Grammy Awards already have nominees.
The Recording Academy announced on November 7 the complete list of nominees for an edition that promises an explosive mix of talent, risk and sonic diversity.
The event will be held on February 1, 2026 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
Leading the way is Kendrick Lamar, with nine nominations for his album GNX, followed by Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, Leon Thomas and producer Cirkut.
An edition that breaks boundaries
Rap and pop coexist with the rise of Latin talent, the resurgence of alternative rock and the consolidation of R&B as a creative force.
Bad Bunny once again makes history: he is the first Latin artist to be nominated simultaneously in the three main categories (Album, Record and Song of the Year).
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga reaffirms her capacity for reinvention with Mayhem, while Sabrina Carpenter emerges as one of the most solid pop figures of the new generation.
The dominators of the year
- Kendrick Lamar – 9 nominations
His sixth album, GNX, confirms him as the most incisive social storyteller in contemporary hip hop. - Lady Gaga – 7 nominations
Mayhem consolidates a mature stage: theatrical, conceptual and emotionally intense. - Bad Bunny – 6 nominations
With DeBÍ TiRAR MAS FOToS, the Puerto Rican crosses genres without complexes, from trap to Latin soul. - Sabrina Carpenter – 6 nominations
The pop phenomenon of the year: her album Man’s Best Friend and the hit Manchild put her in the big league.
Grammy Awards more global than ever
The presence of artists from Asia, Latin America and Africa marks an irreversible trend.
From Huntr/x and his track Golden (from the KPop film Demon Hunters) to Burna Boy and Anoushka Shankar, the nominations celebrate the diversity of languages and sounds that define global music today.

While legends like Elton John, The Cure or Hayley Williams compete with new names like Chappell Roan, Doechii or Huntr/x, the Grammys seem to finally find a balance between history and renewal.
The 2026 event promises more than just prizes: it will be an X-ray of the cultural moment we are living in.
