K-pop titans ENHYPEN and SEVENTEEN shake up the global scene with the announcement of their new albums: ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH’ and ‘Happy Burstday’.
April 2025 is shaping up to be a key month for K-pop. Two of the genre’s most influential bands, ENHYPEN and SEVENTEEN, have confirmed the release of new albums and the start of ambitious world tours that bode well for a summer full of excitement and boundless energy.
ENHYPEN: DESIRE : UNLEASH, their sixth mini-album
During their explosive performance at Coachella 2025, ENHYPEN surprised the audience by announcing their new mini-album ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH’, which will be released on June 5th. In a set loaded with hits like “Blessed-Cursed,” “Drunk-Dazed (EDM Ver.)” and the acclaimed English version of “XO (Only If You Say Yes),” the boyband composed of JUNGWON, HEESEUNG, JAY, JAKE, SUNGHOON, SUNOO and NI-KI also introduced the provocative slogan: “CAN’T TOUCH YOU, BUT I’M GONNA MAKE YOU MINE.”
The group, born in the successful South Korean reality show I-LAND, also confirmed the first dates of its upcoming “ENHYPEN Walk the Line” world tour, which will kick off on August 6 at the UBS Arena in New York.
SEVENTEEN: new album, new tour, new everything
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN has announced the long-awaited release of their fifth studio album ‘Happy Burstday’, scheduled for May 26th. This new work arrives after almost three years since their acclaimed Face the Sun (2022), and promises to be an explosion of artistic renewal, celebrating the band’s 10-year career.
The group consisting of S.COUPS, JEONGHAN, JOSHUA, JUN, HOSHI, WONWOO, WOOZI, THE 8, MINGYU, DK, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON and DINO has generated great anticipation with a mysterious teaser set in a subway tunnel, in which a birthday cake transforms into flames, revealing the album’s title.
In addition, SEVENTEEN is preparing a new tour, a unit album and exclusive content for fans, marking the beginning of a bold and experimental stage.
K-pop gives no respite
