Barbra Streisand announces “The Secret of Life:Partners, Volume Two,” a legendary star-studded comeback

By LoffMusic

At 82, Barbra Streisand continues to prove that her voice, presence and artistic vision are as strong as ever. The iconic singer, actress and producer has just announced her 37th album, titled The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two, due out June 27, 2025 via Columbia Records. The project is the long-awaited sequel to her hit duets album Partners (2014), but this time it goes a step further.

A list of collaborators of a different level

The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two will feature 11 duets with an absolutely stellar cast of artists:
Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Sting, Hozier, Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, Seal, Josh Groban, Tim McGraw and Laufey. A combination of established legends and voices of new generations that gather around a figure who has done it all.

The album is produced by Walter Afanasieff (known for his work with Mariah Carey) and Peter Asher, with Barbra Streisand and Jay Landers as executive producers.

First preview: Hozier and the magic of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”.

The album’s first single, released on the same day as the announcement, is an emotional version of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” with Irish singer-songwriter Hozier. The choice of the song – composed by Ewan MacColl and popularized by Roberta Flack – carries symbolic weight, and the result is a delicate and respectful rendition.

“Singing with Barbra was a huge honor and a wonderful surprise,” commented Hozier. “This song has always fascinated me. It is one of the most beautiful love stories ever written. I hope our version is also a gesture to Roberta Flack’s legacy.”

An artist who never stops reinventing herself

In an official statement, Barbra expressed:

“I’ve always loved singing with talented artists. They inspire me in unique ways…and make studio time a joy. On this new album I’ve been able to collaborate with old friends, label colleagues and also new voices that I deeply admire.”

This release comes on the heels of her participation in Barbie: The Album with the song “Home,” and serves as a reminder that, even after a six-decade career, Streisand continues to write new chapters in the history of popular music.
