Travis Scott returns with his pack, Jackboys 2 arrives Sunday with 17 tracks and cult spirit

By LoffMusic – July 11, 2025

Travis Scott never stops, but this time he decided to go back to his roots. After a couple of years at the top with Utopia and after having set stages like Coachella and the College Football National Championship on fire, the Houstonian dusts off the Jackboys badge and announces his long-awaited sequel: Jackboys 2 will be released this Sunday, July 13 with 17 new tracks and a vibe that promises to recapture the collective fire of his Cactus Jack label.

In the words of the promotional poster itself: “The Jack is back with 17 new tracks full of trunk-rattling classics in the making”. It says it clearly. This is not an album, it’s a statement.

La manada crece: an album of names, but above all of energy.

On this occasion, Scott is not alone. Sheck Wes and Don Toliver have already confirmed appearances on the cut “2000 Excursion”, which arrived as a preview along with a video clip of futuristic and nocturnal aesthetics. In addition, artists such as GloRilla, Kodak Black, Tyla, 21 Savage, Waka Flocka Flame and SahBabii have dropped hints about their participation in the project… or at least have received customized Lamborghinis with the Jackboys 2 logo.

The legendary Bun B, member of UGK and symbol of the American South, will host the album, another nod to the project’s Texas heritage. At this point, it’s not just about putting names together: it’s about creating atmosphere.

Jackboys is not just an album, it is a universe.

The first Jackboys (2019) was not a traditional album. It was a sonic manifesto where Travis began to present his record label as a creative collective. There was Rosalia with her haunting verse on “Highest in the Room,” Young Thug, Offset, and the entire Travis crew proving that Houston is more than a city: it’s a frequency.

Jackboys 2 seems to be along the same lines, but with more muscle, more cameras and a post-Utopia context that gives it another narrative weight.

What is expected from the sound?

Although not all the producers have been revealed, the first preview makes it clear that this is an album designed to be listened to at full volume in cars, parties and stadiums. Grave, elegant distortion, melodic autotune and rhythms that drink from both classic trap and house, industrial and afrobeat influences, as already seen in Travis’ latest projects.

More than music?

Yes, Scott has been expanding his universe beyond audio for years. His official website has been offering physical editions of the album -vinyl, CD, cassettes- with exclusive artwork, T-shirts and posters in limited editions. Their creative team has worked on visual campaigns worthy of a blockbuster. As with Utopia, Jackboys 2 also seems destined to be a multiplatform experience, not just a tracklist.

The perfect moment

With Utopia still fresh in the collective memory and after a season of massive touring and viral releases (“4X4”, his theme song premiered at the college soccer playoffs, still resonates), Travis is back to what he does best: leading from the trenches.

In an industry saturated with singles without context, Jackboys 2 wants to be the opposite: a choral piece, urgent and dirty, to be listened to in groups, in cars, in the streets, in clubs, at full volume.

This July 13, the pack will run again.
