After surprising with their first single Back in the Game, Mark Pritchard and Thom Yorke present a new preview of their joint album Tall Tales, which will be released on May 9, 2025 via Warp Records.
The new single, “This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice,” maintains the hypnotic and minimalist essence that defines the union of these two musicians, combining immersive electronic landscapes with Yorke’s unmistakable ethereal voice.
An enigmatic videoclip directed by Jonathan Zawada
The release of the single is accompanied by a music video directed by Jonathan Zawada, who already worked on the first advance of the album and who, according to the press release, is the “third unofficial member” of the project.
The video is part of a full-length film project that Zawada has developed in parallel with the album, generating even more buzz around the visual aesthetic surrounding Tall Tales.

An evolution within the album
While Back in the Game offered a more rhythmic structure and immersive electronic production, “This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice” opts for a more ethereal and introspective approach, where Pritchard’s ambient textures create the perfect backdrop for Yorke’s melancholy.
This second preview reaffirms that Tall Tales will be an album that will explore different nuances of electronic music, mixing synth-pop, krautrock, dub and sound experimentation with a narrative and conceptual approach.
The road to Tall Tales
The album, which will mark the first full collaboration between Pritchard and Yorke following their work together on Beautiful People (2016), will feature 12 tracks:
🎵 A Fake in a Faker’s World
🎵 Bugging Out Again
🎵 Back in the Game
🎵 This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice
🎵 The Men Who Dance in Stags’ Heads
🎵 Tall Tales (theme song)
With each preview, Pritchard and Yorke are slowly revealing the sonic universe they have built together, combining detailed electronics and Yorke’s unique melodic sensibility.
Closer and closer to launch
With This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice, Mark Pritchard and Thom Yorke consolidate the identity of Tall Tales as one of the most anticipated releases of the year. On May 9th we will be able to listen to the full album, but in the meantime, these first two previews have already made it clear that we are in front of a collaboration that promises to mark a before and after in contemporary electronic music.
