Richard Ashcroft announces new album “Lovin`You” and joins Oasis on the most anticipated reunion tour of the year

2025 is being a year of historic comebacks, and Richard Ashcroft, former leader of The Verve and one of the most recognized voices in Britpop, could not be left out. The musician has announced the release of his seventh solo album, entitled Lovin’ YouThe album, scheduled for October 3, coincides with his inclusion as guest artist on the Oasis reunion tour, the most eagerly awaited British rock event in decades.

🧡 Lovin’ You’: a new chapter for a modern classic

Ashcroft hadn’t released an album of all-new material since Natural Rebel in 2018. Lovin’ You arrives as a collection of fresh, sensitive and vibrant songs, where love and nostalgia dialogue with contemporary sounds. The album will include her recent single “Lover,” a track full of warmth that reinterprets Joan Armatrading’s “Love and Affection” with respect and soul.

The production has featured heavyweight collaborators such as Chris Potter and Emre Ramazanoglu, and will even include a track co-written with Mirwais (Madonna’s regular producer), entitled “I’m A Rebel”. The variety and openness of the album makes it one of the most anticipated British releases of the fall.

🛣️ Back on the road… with Oasis

The announcement of Lovin’ You coincides with another milestone: Ashcroft will accompany Oasis as a special guest on their Live ’25 reunion tour, which kicks off this July 4 in Cardiff. This alliance is no coincidence: the history of Richard and Oasis has been intertwined since the beginnings of both bands in the 1990s.

“Oasis opened for The Verve, then we opened for them. I’ve shared the stage with them in all their phases. I told Noel: I’m the only person who fits on this tour,” Ashcroft explained recently on Radio X.

The tour will tour the UK and Ireland during July and August, with stops at iconic stadiums such as Manchester’s Etihad, London’s Wembley and Dublin’s Aviva Stadium. Ashcroft will share the bill with another Britpop legend, CAST, consolidating a lineup with a golden era flavor.

🎙️ An essential figure of Britpop… still alive and well

With a career spanning more than three decades, Ashcroft remains a central figure in British music. His ability to write poignant lyrics and his unmistakable voice have earned him an eternal place in the history of alternative rock. From his legacy with Urban Hymns to his solo evolution, he has managed to stay true to himself while continuing to reinvent himself.

“I’m happy for Oasis, for their mother Peggy, for the fans who didn’t see them at the time. And I’m right there with them, like I was in the beginning,” he said emotionally in a recent interview.
