Seven years ago the singer and rapper from Tenerife Maikel Delacalle released his song ‘ My Baby ‘, a track that changed his musical career and would lay the foundations of what we know today as the Canarian DNA in musical terms. But this year, Maikel publishes a remix with Quevedo, one of the urban artists of the moment considered the spearhead of the Canarian wave.
It is a total reversal of the most solid single that turns what was a hit with over 55 million streams on digital platforms into a mega-hit with international impact. The romantic and energy music king from the exotic Canary Island sound factory releases the second preview of Codes (Virgin Music, 2023), the next album to be released by Delacalle.
The young man from San Isidro was recently recognized as a “Best Young Man of the Year.Best Urban Artist” at Los 40 Music Awards, accumulating more than 1.6M monthly listeners on the Spotify platform and his track ‘ Replay ‘ reaches more than 71M listens on the aforementioned platform, making his digital numbers grow at an exorbitant rate.
In addition, his numbers serve as a preview of another new sounding reggaeton album he has in the works, the release date of which will be confirmed soon. It will include collaborations with Latin artists of great recognition in the urban genre, so it will be a success inside and outside our country.
