Mad Cool Festival announces the first confirmations for the line-up of its next edition, which will take place from July 10 to 13, 2024 in Villaverde, Madrid, with a total of 104 national and international artists. This first announcement includes a total of 73 bands, with 31 additional names still to be unveiled in the near future.
On Wednesday, July 10, the new edition of the festival will be inaugurated with Dua Lipa as the main headliner. The British artist, with her new single ‘Houdini’, will take the stage for the second time at the festival. The first day will also see The Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage, Janelle Monáe and Rels B, as well as other names such as Soccer Mommy, Jet Vesper, Nothing But Thieves, Tom Odell and many more.
Thursday 11 will feature the Seattle sound, or in other words, Pearl Jam. Six years after his performance at the event, Eddie Vedder returns and with him classics like ‘Alive’, ‘Better Man’ and ‘Rearviewmirror’ that travel from generation to generation. Leading the day will be Motxila 21, a band belonging to the Down Syndrome Association of Navarra to which the festival will support this year by allocating part of the profits obtained by the Charity of the festival.
The Canadians Sum 41 will come to revolutionize the day on Friday 12th with one of the most incendiary live performances of the day. Britain’s Jessie Ware promises big doses of disco revival with tracks like ‘Say You Love Me’ and ‘Free Yourself’. Other headliners include Black Pumas, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Tom Morello, The Breeders, Sleaford Mods, Gilipolazz, Danilo Plessow and Lola Haro, among others.
The singer and songwriter Avril Lavigne will return to Madrid after 20 years without visiting the capital, her concert being part of her European tour, which will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the festival. Saturday the 13th will feature Bring Me The Horizon, as well as other high-profile artists such as The Gaslight Anthem, Arlo Parks, The Blessed Madonna, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Axel Boman and Honeyluv.
