Juanes presents second single from his new full-length album

Colombian singer and songwriter Juanes presented this Friday his new single, ‘ Gris ‘. The song, produced with Sebastian Krys and Emmanuel Briceño, will be part of his next album to be released this year by the multinational label Universal Music.

Gris’ is the second advance of a four-year period in which the artist from Medellín devoted himself to creating new compositions after the release of his album Origin (Universal Music, 2021), a work that included covers of Juan Luis Guerra, Fito Páez, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Bruce Springsteen and Joaquín Sabina, among others..

With that LP the musician won the Grammy and Latin Grammy, taking his songs to the live shows in his particular tour “Origen Tour: Europe 2022“. The new single comes on the heels of their single ‘ Amores Prohibidos ‘, exposing “a melancholic and introspective examination of the difficulties faced by a long-standing marriage due to quarantine, which leads the couple to go through a period of gray emotions”.

The new song is accompanied by a video directed by José Emilio Sagaró, who comments the following in a press release: “Working with Juanes is always a pleasure. When we talked about the concept of ‘Gris’ we really wanted to create something that would take the viewer into the world of the song. The video depicts the turmoil in a relationship and the internal struggles we go through. The collapsed house, the 360-degree rotating scene, the rain, the snow and the collapsed interior walls symbolize the hurricane we feel inside when we struggle with our emotional struggles. Our goal was to create something beautiful and artistic that would resonate with viewers.“.
