The fourth single is the latest to be released from the band’s fourth album, “Romance.”
Fontaines D.C. has shared their new existential single “In The Modern World” from their album “Romance” which will be available next Friday, August 23rd.
According to a press release, “In The Modern World” serves as the album’s centerpiece song and was written by frontman Grain Chatten during an “inexplicable” 10-day stay alone in Los Angeles in 2023. It was compared to the lush sounds of Lana Del Rey and was built around the image of a “fictional trio together in the midst of the apocalypse.”
Directed by Luna Carmoon, who previously directed the video for “Here’s The Thing,” the video for “In The Modern World” stars Ewan Mitchell (House Of The Dragon, Saltburn) and sees him immerse himself in the brutal, passionate and fetishistic theater of a Car Jitsu match.
