LoffMusic –
Ten years after their first rehearsal, their first riff, their first concert in Granada, D’Baldomeros continue to move like a band that has not lost its urgency, but has learned to breathe.
And that is exactly what “VERA” is: a breath. Or rather, a low tide.
After the release of their last and frenetic single, “Figurantes”, published in June, the band returns with a completely different piece in pulsation but just as sharp in essence. Because if anything defines D’Baldomeros is that they never return to the same place in the same way.
When the sea is also a studio
VERA takes its name from a paradisiacal beach on the coast of Almeria.
There, among the heat, the sand and the constant murmur of the Mediterranean, a song was born that captures freedom, nostalgia and memories as if they were slow motion.
The theme is not a summer postcard, it is a place to return to mentally when life speeds up more than usual.
Sound evolution, the sea, but electric
Although calmer than “Figurantes”, VERA does not renounce the band’s DNA,
Sharp guitars
A solid and forceful rhythmic base
And now, a greater presence of electronics and vintage synthesizers, which add an aesthetic and emotional layer that expands the group’s sound without betraying its essence.
VERA is not a turn. It is an evolution.
A kind of summer night after a storm.
The team behind the sound
The song is once again produced by David “Indio” Sutil, from La Madre Estudios, whose vision has become a key part of this new cycle of the group.
The mastering is once again in charge of Alan Lockwood (B.B Music Studio), in charge of giving final shape to the soundscape of this new stage.
And as in any emotional work, the image matters: Oscar Parada’s videoclip plays with evocative photographic direction, capturing that mix of calm, space and memory that underlies the song.
A decade in motion
VERA is not just a single: it is one more piece on the way to the next EP, which will come to close the circle of these ten years of history.
Ten years that have not stopped the group, but have sharpened their gaze.
Ten years that find them more alive than ever, but also more aware of the value of stopping.
Why listen to VERA
Because it transmits calm without resigning itself to stillness
Because it shows how one can evolve without ceasing to sound like oneself
Because it combines guitars and electronics without losing humanity
Because it is one of the most interesting bands of the Andalusian independent scene
Because its videoclip does not illustrate the song: it amplifies it.
What’s next
If “Figurantes” was the scream, VERA is the sigh. And between the two beats the heart of a band that enters its second decade with an artistic clarity that only experience can give.
And the best part is that this is not the end: it’s the prelude.
The EP is on its way.
The story is still being written.
And we will be counting every chapter.
