“Becoming Led Zeppelin” The band’s first official documentary has a release date and trailer.

A tribute to one of rock’s most iconic bands

After years of painstaking work, the documentary “Becoming Led Zeppelin” now has a release date: it will hit IMAX theaters on February 7. This first authorized documentary on the legendary British band promises an in-depth look at their history, told in the members’ own words and enriched with previously unseen footage.

A glimpse of the documentary

The newly released trailer combines archival footage of Led Zeppelin with current interviews, old home recordings and electrifying live performances. One of the highlights is a never-before-heard interview with the late drummer John Bonham, a detail that will thrill fans of the band.

Unpublished material and restoration

Directed by Bernard MacMahon, the documentary includes exclusive interviews with Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, as well as access to the four members’ personal archives. In addition, never-before-seen footage from the 1969 concerts at the Atlanta Pop Festival, the Fillmore West and the Texas Pop Festival is presented.

The level of dedication behind this project is impressive. According to writer/producer Allison McGourty, the team spent five years traveling between continents to collect rare and hidden footage. “We transferred each piece of archive with custom techniques so that, in IMAX, these 55-year-old clips look like they just came out of the lab,” McGourty explained.

An immersive IMAX experience

“Becoming Led Zeppelin” promises to be an immersive experience that will take fans into the heart of the band, with a visual and sonic quality that revitalizes historical material. This documentary is not only a tribute to Led Zeppelin’s career, but also a testament to the cultural relevance of a band that defined an era of rock.

The premiere will mark a milestone for Led Zeppelin fans and music lovers alike, offering a unique and unforgettable glimpse into the legacy of one of the most influential bands in history.
