BADBADNOTGOOD and Tim Bernardes surprise with “Poeira Cósmica”, is a new album coming?

Canadian quartet BADBADNOTGOOD once again challenges the boundaries of jazz and contemporary music with their latest release, Poeira Cósmica. This collaboration with acclaimed Brazilian musician Tim Bernardes marks an exciting encounter between the band’s jazz sensibility and Bernardes’ vocal warmth, resulting in a piece that captivates from the first chord.

Poeira Cósmica, which translates as “Cosmic Dust”, is a composition co-written with the legendary Arthur Verocai, one of the most influential names in Brazilian music. The song encapsulates an impeccable fusion of sophisticated harmonies and the elegance of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), exploring a sound that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. The relationship between BADBADNOTGOOD and Tim Bernardes dates back to 2019, when the Brazilian opened one of the band’s concerts in São Paulo. Since then, a latent musical connection has led them to materialize this long-awaited collaboration.

Poeira Cósmica ‘s live debut took place during a series of concerts at New York’s prestigious Blue Note, where BADBADNOTGOOD held an eight-night residency in September 2024. During these shows, Bernardes joined the band to perform the new song and a cover of Milton Nascimento’s Tudo O Que Você Podia Ser, demonstrating the unparalleled chemistry between the two artists.

Despite the excitement surrounding this release, so far there is no official information about a new BADBADNOTGOOD album on the horizon. However, the release of Poeira Cósmica and the band’s creative energy suggest that something big could be brewing. The band, known for their forays into hip-hop, soul and electronica, continues to expand their horizons and blur genres with each new project.
