Valeria Castro illuminates the feeling of “loneliness” with her new single and video clip

A musical and visual portrait of loneliness from a unique perspective.

Valeria Castro invites us to explore the complex universe of “la soledad”, her new single and preview of her next album produced by Carles Campi Campón. In this song, Valeria transforms a traditionally dark feeling into an intimate dialogue full of tenderness and irony. Accompanied by a music video directed by Joana Colomar, the song acquires a visual dimension starring female references such as Bárbara Lennie, Macarena García, Irene Escolar, Sara Carbonero and Olivia Molina, who bring depth and diversity to this proposal.

The inspiration behind “la soledad” (loneliness)

This theme emerged during a moment of pause for Valeria, in the emotional hiatus after finishing a tour. Far from her native La Palma and settled in Madrid, the artist reflected on the many facets of loneliness, especially from the perspective of artists who face this introspective process as part of their creation.

The verse “Cuánto me va a querer la soledad pa no soltarme” became the creative axis that allowed Valeria to approach this feeling from a different perspective. Instead of fearing it, she decided to explore it with curiosity, revealing that loneliness, far from being an enemy, can be a space of freedom and personal enrichment.

A composition between tradition and modernity

The production of “la soledad” stands out for its rich sound. Recorded between Madrid and Mexico City, it includes the collaboration of fourteen musicians and combines traditional elements such as Iberian percussion and guitars with contemporary sounds such as synthesizers, drums and samples with Mexican influences. This approach allows for a balance between melodic warmth and innovation, highlighting the emotionality of the song without falling into excessive melancholy.

According to Carles Campi Campón, the producer, the intention was to play with contrasts and polyrhythm, while maintaining a sound cohesion that amplifies the emotional intensity of the song. This sound accompanies the message of the song, opening the senses so that the listener can perceive each nuance with greater depth.

A video clip celebrating female diversity

The music video for “la soledad”, directed by Joana Colomar, is a visual work that reinforces the message of the single. It features a woman who lives alone, played by different actresses who embody the different “I’s” of the same person throughout her life. This approach, inspired by the metaphor of a fan, shows how each stage of existence contributes to form a timeless portrait.

“Each of the women we have been, are and will be, coexist in us,” explains Colomar, who defines the video clip as a hymn to sisterhood and female empowerment. In a world where loneliness is often perceived as isolation, Valeria Castro and Joana Colomar transform it into a bridge to self-knowledge and connection.

A transition to a new artistic chapter

“La soledad” is not only the first preview of Valeria’s upcoming album, but also a bridge that connects with her previous work “Con cariño y con cuidado” ( 2023). While in that album Valeria explored her external roots, in this new project she delves into her most intimate universe, opening the doors to a puzzle of emotions that will resonate with the public.

With this release, Valeria Castro reminds us that, as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said in The Little Prince, “the essential is invisible to the eye”. She invites us to look beyond the obvious, to find richness in moments of solitude and to embrace every facet of our existence.

A message in a feminine key

“La soledad” stands as a tribute to feminine strength and the diversity of experiences that make up a woman’s life. It is a work that celebrates empowerment, togetherness and introspection, positioning Valeria Castro as one of the most sensitive and relevant voices in music today.
