Twenty One Pilots present “More Than We Ever Imagined,” a concert turned collective memory

There are concerts that are remembered.
And there are others that define a career.

Twenty One Pilots have shared the first trailer for More Than We Ever Imagined, their new cinematic concert film, an ambitious piece that captures one of the most defining moments of their career: their performance in front of 65,000 people in Mexico City during The Clancy World Tour.

The film will hit theaters and IMAX theaters worldwide on February 26, with special screenings starting on the 25th, in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing.

A full stadium… and a look inward

Far from being limited to a live document, More Than We Ever Imagined functions as an intimate portrait of the vertigo that accompanies success. The trailer alternates epic stadium footage with behind-the-scenes scenes: the arrival in the city, the stage set-up and the moments leading up to the show.

In one of the most revealing sentences of the preview, Tyler Joseph confesses:

“Playing in front of ten people is more stressful than playing in front of sixty thousand…but being surrounded by so many people while playing the piano is the closest I come to remembering why I fell in love with music.”

A reflection that sums up well the spirit of the film: the bigger the stage, the more personal the experience becomes.

Risk as a creative engine

The trailer also leaves room for Josh Dun’s voiceover, which underscores one of the principles that have defined the duo since their inception:

“We’re always looking for ways to improve the show. We like to put ourselves in situations where we don’t know if something is going to work live.”

This taste for risk -for pushing the concert format beyond the predictable- is a constant in the history of Twenty One Pilots, and here it finds a cinematographic translation coherent with their identity.

From small rooms to multitude and emotional scale

One of the most sincere moments in the trailer comes when Joseph acknowledges that, in his early days, his ambition didn’t go much further than playing for a thousand people. The difference is not just numerical: it’s emotional.

“They give me license to act the way I want to be on stage, to become who I want to be.”

More Than We Ever Imagined is not about fireworks or attendance records, but about how it feels to inhabit that space.

A film that dialogues with its current stage

The film comes on the heels of the release of Breach (2025), the album that followed Clancy (2024) and conceptually shaped the world tour. This stage has cemented Twenty One Pilots as a band capable of combining conceptual storytelling, massive spectacle and personal vulnerability.

In addition to the film, the group has a busy 2026 ahead of it:

  • Headliner at All Points East (their only UK gig this year)
  • Outstanding presence at European festivals such as Mad Cool, Sziget and Electric Castle, alongside names such as The Cure.

More than a memory, an affirmation

The film’s title is no accident. More Than We Ever Imagined speaks of overcoming expectations, but also of staying connected to the initial impulse, even when everything becomes gigantic.

It’s not a celebration of success.
It’s a meditation on why to keep going on stage.
