trashi’s new collaboration with Zahara “Uno más”, a must listen on loop this weekend.

The voices of Sergio and Zahara explode to the rhythm of urban pop, rock and electronica in “Uno más”, the new collaboration between the Murcian band trashi and the ubetense singer.

The band’s personal sound reaches a new dimension with the artist who is forceful about her music: “I love trashi, I love the freedom they give off in their songs, in the way they interpret them. Doing this song together has been a trip back to my 20s, to relive that anxiety when they left you hanging and you didn’t know what you had done to make it happen. Back then we didn’t have a word for it, we just felt bad and thought we had lost our minds. This experience has been like writing the song that the college Zahara needed”.

For his part, trashi relates the process as follows: “when thinking about a collaboration we liked the idea of it being with someone a bit unexpected. We started to discuss options but when Zahara’ s name came up it was like: that’s it, it would be really cool. She was super open and super versatile with the theme from the beginning, and in the end it turned out amazing. The experience in the studio was brutal, very fun, we talked about a lot of things and we went home super happy with the song and with having shared that little while.

Sergio (vocals and guitar), Luz (guitar), Luis (bass) and María (drums) will set Madrid’s Sala Panda on fire next Friday, January 26th when “Uno más” will be played for the first time at the concert they will be offering as part of the Inverfest program. Their heartbreaking sound grows even more live as they will demonstrate before the public in the capital or in other dates already confirmed in cities such as Murcia (February 23) or in festivals such as the Oh, See! Malaga (May 24-25), the Morriña Festival in A Coruña (July 26-27) or the Santander Music (August 2-3).

Nevertheless, trashi’s intense trajectory continues unabated. The Murcian band based in Madrid started in 2020 with their first reference, “No me ves:(“. His sound is full of rawness and intimacy and his lyrics reflect everyday issues and his own personal experiences. In his short career, trashi has released several singles, two EPs and is already preparing for the release of his first full-length album scheduled for later this year.

Among the six tracks of “Lo que pasó ese verano” (2021) we find his version of Bad Gyal’s “fiebre” and “mañaneo”, in collaboration with Pedro Ladroga and his producer InnerCut. Their second and most recent EP, “Quiero irme a casa” (2023), includes five songs in which the group’s drive and reflection on how complicated it is to live far from home can be clearly perceived. In his incessant creativity and activity, he has also had time to collaborate with Chill Chicos on the track “Baby” (2020) and with Natalia Lacunza on the brilliant “Quiero dormir contigo” (2021).

“Uno más” is an explosive song that combines urban pop, rock and electronica. Sergio and Zahara’s voices blend perfectly in a catchy melody and a chorus that you can’t stop singing. The lyrics talk about a love breakup, that moment when you realize that the person you love is no longer for you. It is an honest and heartbreaking song that will touch your heart.

The collaboration between trashi and Zahara is one of those surprises that music leaves us with. Two artists with such different styles but who, when they come together, create something magical. We listened to it on loop , I assure you !!!!
