The Black Keys ‘ return is now official – and promises to be one of rock’s biggest moments in 2026. The influential Ohio duo has announced the release of their new album Peaches! due May 1, 2026, accompanied by the powerful single “You Got To Lose” and an ambitious international tour that will include two key London shows.
After several months of speculation, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney return to the scene with a deeply emotional project, born in a complex personal moment for the vocalist and guitarist.
An album marked by emotion and rawness
Far from a conventional studio process, Peaches! came about spontaneously. Auerbach began writing new songs while caring for his father, who was experiencing serious health problems after suffering a stroke and being diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
The musician has acknowledged that those sessions were almost therapeutic:
“We weren’t making a record. We were just jamming to ourselves…it was a very primal thing. We were going through a lot and we needed to lift our spirits.”
That emotional intensity seems to permeate the whole album, which recovers the group’s blues-rock DNA, but with a more visceral and direct interpretation.
For many industry analysts, this approach is reminiscent of the raw spirit of their early work, albeit with the sonic maturity that the band has developed after more than two decades of career.
“You Got To Lose” and a first preview with classic essence.
The lead single presents a Black Keys faithful to their identity: abrasive guitars, forceful groove and an organic production that avoids artifice.
The song points to a return to the minimalism that made the duo a benchmark of modern garage-blues and reinforces the idea that Peaches! could be one of their most honest albums.
The album follows No Rain, No Flowers (2025) and consolidates a particularly prolific creative period for the group.
Tracklist of Peaches!
The album will include ten songs:
- Where There’s Smoke, There’s Fire
- Stop Arguing Over Me
- Who’s Been Foolin’ You
- It’s a Dream
- Tomorrow Night
- You Got To Lose
- Tell Me You Love Me
- She Does It Right
- Fireman Ring the Bell
- Nobody But You Baby
The titles suggest a balance between introspection and rock energy, a formula that has historically connected with both critics and audiences.
International tour and two key concerts in London
To accompany the release, The Black Keys will embark on a North American tour before jumping to Europe and the UK, where they are already on the bill of major festivals such as:
- Rock en Seine (Paris)
- Victorious Festival, with Richard Ashcroft and Kasabian
In addition, the duo will perform two highly anticipated concerts in London:
📍 Aug. 31 – Eventim Apollo
📍 Sept. 1 – O2 Academy Brixton
Fans who pre-order the album will have early access to the pre-sale, an increasingly common strategy to drive physical sales in the streaming era.
A comeback that may redefine mainstream rock in 2026
Since their global breakthrough with Brothers and the El Camino phenomenon, The Black Keys have been able to move between commercial success and alternative credibility. Their ability to update the blues within contemporary rock has influenced a whole generation of bands.
With Peaches! the duo seems to be betting less on sophistication and more on direct emotion – a decision that comes at a time when rock is once again gaining prominence in the global music cycle.
If the single is a reliable track, 2026 could mark one of the genre’s most celebrated comebacks.
