Considered undisputed icons of power-pop and folk-rock, this Glasgow-based band has built a legacy that bridges the melodic sensibility of Big Star, Badfinger, and The Byrds with the spirit of late-1980s alternative rock. Their sound—based on luminous guitars, warm vocal harmonies, and an unmistakable compositional elegance—gave rise to essential albums such as *Bandwagonesque* (1991), Grand Prix (1995), and *Songs From Northern Britain* (1997). On October 9, just a few days after kicking off their tour of our country, they will release their new album, *Do Not Dare To Dream*, on Merge Records.
