Russian Red reinvents live performance with “Rojo Relativo” and a mystical cabaret where music is mixed with theater and improvisation.

It is not a tour, nor a conventional comeback. Russian Red has decided to break any expectations with “Rojo Relativo”, a hybrid show that fuses concert, performance and theater in an experience designed for intimate spaces. The Spanish artist thus inaugurates a new creative stage that bets on risk, closeness and emotion as opposed to large formats.

With performances in emblematic venues such as Café Berlín in Madrid and El Molino in Barcelona, the project is conceived as an itinerant artistic residency in constant transformation: every night is different, every gesture responds to the energy of the audience and nothing is completely written.

A new era for Russian Red

Since her breakthrough on the indie scene with I Love Your Glasses (2008), Lourdes Hernandez -the voice behind Russian Red- has built a career marked by sound sensitivity and artistic search. After years of alternating musical projects, painting and creative explorations, the singer now returns with a stage proposal that redefines her relationship with the live performance.

“Rojo Relativo” does not pretend to be just a show: it is an artistic evolution where music coexists with poetry, body movement and improvisation.

The result is a format that moves away from the traditional concert to approach a kind of contemporary cabaret, elegant and surreal.

Music as a backbone

Although the show embraces multiple disciplines, music remains at the heart of the project.

The repertoire combines:

  • Great love classics reinterpreted
  • Russian Red’s own songs
  • Poetic passages in dialogue with sound
  • Impromptu moments that alter the rhythm of each performance

This creative freedom will allow some of these reinterpretations to be part of a future album entitled “Rojo Relativo Vol. I”, which will be progressively released on digital platforms.

The idea is not to release an album all at once, but to let the project grow organically – like the show itself.

La Loca is the new stage alter ego of Lourdes Hernandez.

One of the most symbolic elements of this new stage is the character of “La Loca”, inspired by the tarot card .

It is a figure that embodies:

  • the vital impulse
  • the contradiction
  • the desire
  • the risk

Russian Red adopts this archetype to move forward without a fixed destination, embracing error, drama and fantasy as forms of artistic truth.

The costumes, in constant transformation during the performance, reinforce this narrative of emotional and scenic transit.

An intimate phenomenon in times of macro-concerts

In 2025, the artist already experimented with this format at Café Berlin, achieving four sold out concerts in record time. This success confirmed that there is still an audience looking for close and not massive experiences.

“Relative Red” was born precisely from that philosophy:

👉 less industrial spectacle 👉 more human connection
👉 more unpredictability

The proposal is also based on creative independence, moving away from the logic of fast consumption to bet on word of mouth and authenticity.

More than a show, it is an artistic statement

At a time when the music industry tends towards bigger and bigger productions, Russian Red proposes the opposite: to recover the stage as a space of intimacy, reflection and contradiction.

“Rojo Relativo” not only marks a new chapter in her career-it also reaffirms Lourdes Hernandez as an artist who continues to fearlessly explore the boundaries of her creative identity.

Because if something is clear from this performative residency is that Russian Red does not seek to reinvent itself to fit in, but to continue discovering itself.

And that, probably, is the most radical form of artistic evolution.
