The xx’s Romy has teamed up with Sampha for the new song “I’m on Your Team.” It comes with a video the British musicians filmed at the London-based workers’ co-op Not/Nowhere.
“It’s a love song, but lyrically it’s honest and true,” Romy said of “I’m on Your Team,” which she and Sampha made with co-producer and songwriter Thomas Bartlett. “Like, ‘We’ve had the magic and the dreamlike, but now we’ve been through stuff together, so here we are and I’m putting in the work.'”
Sampha added, “I love the idea of being part of a team, that you have to be present for others, and from there you can create an even deeper connection.”
