Melifluo presents “Voces Externas”, their second album which is an introspective journey between noise and freedom.

The wait is over. Melifluo, the band formed by Juan Carlos and Antonio Gómez Parrilla, releases their long awaited second album, Voces Externas, a work that delves into the emotions generated by the voices around us and how they influence our perception of the world.

This album, released by Calaverita Records and produced by Paco Salazar, was recorded between Estudio Uno (Madrid) and La Viña (Baeza), consolidating the sound of a band that has evolved without losing its essence. Voces Externas is already available on all digital platforms and in a special edition on orange vinyl, for those who love the physical format.

An album that explores the voices of everyday life

Melifluo invites us to immerse ourselves in an album where each song is a reflection of the emotions that arise in our daily lives. The band describes Voces Externas as an album that addresses the “internal noise” and the challenge of living with it:

“It talks about all those voices that accompany us on a daily basis, the internal noise they generate and the ability to coexist with them. From how to calm the mind, to cries of liberation, rage or rest. The idea is to abandon those external voices that surround us and connect with ourselves.”

On a sonic level, the band has worked on a production that starts from the rehearsal room, prioritizing the energy of each instrument and ensuring that each song retains the identity of Melifluo. The influences of shoegaze and rock are present, although the band has sought to escape from specific references, focusing on creative fluidity and fidelity to their own sound.

Mellifluo: a constant evolution

Since its formation in 2019, Melifluo has been consolidating its own sound that moves between alternative pop rock, shoegaze and indie. With members coming from projects such as Supersubmarina and Casasola, the band has experienced a continuous evolution from their first EPs to this second album.

After releasing their debut Pasado_Futuro in 2021 and collaborating with artists such as Sidonie, Víctor Cabezuelo (Rufus T. Firefly) and Diego (Veintiuno), the band has continued to grow, adding Jaime “Jay” (guitar), Edu (guitar) and Juanan (bass) to their live line-up.

Now, with Voces Externas, Melifluo takes another step forward in its trajectory, consolidating itself as one of the most interesting bands in the national alternative circuit.
