Manu Chao returns in style with his new solo album, “Viva Tu”, his first in 17 years! to be released on September 20th, and to celebrate, he releases the emotional track “São Paulo Motoboy”, a heartfelt tribute to the bikers of the Brazilian city.
Sung in Portuguese, the song captures the essence of their daily struggle and vibrant spirit. The music video immerses us in the life of these “motoboys”, showing their resilience and drive in the middle of the bustling metropolis.
Manu Chao, who before achieving worldwide fame worked as a courier in Paris, acknowledges in a press release his personal connection to the album’s subject matter. “Viva Tu” promises to be a diverse musical journey, with 13 songs in Spanish, French, Portuguese and English, and will include collaborations with renowned artists such as Willie Nelson and Laeti. The album will be available in CD, vinyl and digital formats, inviting listeners to explore its eclectic mix of influences and experiences.
