The mastermind behind Tame Impala’s lush soundscapes, Kevin Parker, has taken an unexpected turn into the world of electronic instrument production. Recently, fans discovered a new addition to the band’s Instagram profile – Telepathic Instruments, described as“an electronic instrument company founded by Tame Impala and friends.”
The company has also launched a website, albeit shrouded in mystery: “Are you listening?”. Telepathic’s social networks follow the same enigmatic line. For now, its Instagram only has two posts: one showing the company’s logo accompanied by a distorted, bitcrushed synthesizer fragment, and another with a pixelated image that appears to be Parker with the cryptic message “What are you trying to tell us?”.

Judging by the available tracks, it seems likely that they are developing at least one synthesizer in collaboration with another company. Hopefully, the instrument will offer psychedelic and experimental sounds, true to Tame Impala’s DNA. It would certainly be any producer’s dream to be able to try it out.
In other Tame Impala-related news, it should be recalled that Parker announced in May of this year the sale of his entire catalog of songs to Sony Music Publishing.
What will Telepathic Instruments have in store for us? Will it be a new era of sonic innovation? Only time will tell. What is clear is that Kevin Parker continues to surprise and defy expectations.
