The UK postal company, Royal Mail, launches the official postage stamps of the band Iron Maiden. The sextet formed by Bruce Dickinson (vocals), Dave Murray (guitar), Janick Gers (guitar), Adrian Smith (guitar), Steve Harris (bass and keyboards) and Nicke McBrain (drums), flagship of heavy metal fans, will be the new jewel in the crown also for those who have philately among their hobbies.
As previously done with other British music icons such as Queen, Pink Floyd, David Bowie and The Beatles, The Maiden is the protagonist of the new issue of the postal service of her country. Among the photographs printed on the stamps, an image taken in our country stands out, specifically with Murray, Smith and Harris performing at Pamploa in September 1988 as part of the mythical Monsters Of Rock in which they shared line-up with Metallica, Helloween and Anthrax.
Other images are those of Bruce Dickinson at London’s Hammersmith Odeon on the 1983 “World Piece” tour, others from the “Legacy of the Beast” tour in 2018 taken in Birmingham and Helsinki, Vancouver in 2010, the mythical concert in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) in 2001, Nicke McBrain in Ecuador (Quito) in 2009 and England (Twichenham) in 2008.
In addition, four of the stamps in the collection feature images of Eddie, the group’s iconic mascot, as the main character. All stamps are available in the official Royal Mail of the Royal Mail company, where you can also purchase merchandising in different formats.
