Justice and Tame Impala have unveiled the official video for ‘Neverender’ and announced a new EP featuring remixes of the collaborative track by Kaytranada and Rampa.
The song is the opening track of the French duo’s fourth and most recent album, ‘Hyperdrama’, released in April . This album marks their first full-length project in eight years. Kevin Parker, aka Tame Impala, also appears on another track on the album, ‘One Night/All Night’.
On September 25, 2024, Justice has released a stunning animated video for ‘Neverender’. The clip was produced by Cekai and directed by Masanobu Hiraoka, along with Kota Iguchi (responsible for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics ceremony) and Armand Beraud (known for IRIS, A Space Opera By Justice).
The sci-fi and space-age inspired video is described as “a fantastic journey through the minds of Justice and Tame Impala as they explore the world of ‘Hyperdrama’ through an animation style that seamlessly fuses Art Nouveau aesthetics with classic Japanese anime.”
Justice commented, “The video for ‘Neverender’ gave us the perfect opportunity to channel many of our visual influences, while making them more distinctive through Masanobu Hiraoka’s unique reinterpretation.” The duo added that they worked alongside longtime collaborators such as Pascal Teixeira and Armand Beraud, initially drawing inspiration from the opening sequences of the 1980s anime that marked their childhood.
In addition, the group has announced that a remix EP of ‘Neverender’ will be released this Friday, September 27. The four-track collection includes the edited radio version of the song, an extended version and new remixes by Kaytranada and Rampa.
