New York once again surrenders to flamenco. The Flamenco Festival New York celebrates its 25th anniversary with a historic edition that vindicates the deep connection between this universal art form and the city that has embraced it since the beginning of the 20th century.
Under the theme “A True Love Story,” the festival runs from February 25 to March 15, 2026, bringing together more than 180 artists from 16 companies and offering 40 performances in five U.S. cities: New York, Miami, Tampa, Chicago and Boston.
Rocío Márquez opens a historic edition
In charge of inaugurating this special edition is Rocío Márquez, who presents Himno Vertical at the CUNY Graduate Center.
Accompanied by Pedro Rojas-Ogáyar, the Huelva-born artist proposes a contemporary requiem that transcends the farewell to become a celebration of origin and transformation. An opening of deep artistic depth that sets the emotional tone of the anniversary.
La Gala Flamenca revives the spirit of Broadway
The iconic New York City Center will host on February 26th and 28th and March 1st the awaited Gala Flamenca, evoking the mythical show Flamenco Puro that conquered Broadway in 1986.

Flamenco beyond the stage with thought and memory
The anniversary also incorporates academic activities and lectures that delve into the historical relationship between flamenco and New York.
The CUNY Graduate Center will host the talk Electric Bohemian: Flamenco and the Arts in Greenwich Village (1950s-1970s), analyzing the link between flamenco, the Beat Generation and the counterculture.
The New York Public Library will host the lecture-concert La Argentinita in New York, recalling the artist’s imprint in the city and her connection with Federico García Lorca.
Domestic expansion in Miami, Tampa, Chicago and Boston
While New York remains the epicenter, the festival is expanding its reach:

In a quarter of a century, Flamenco Festival has presented:

Figures such as Paco de Lucía, Enrique Morente, Carmen Linares or Miguel Poveda have been part of its history.
