Fat Dog doesn’t want you to like him, and “Cancel Me (I’m Tired)” is shaping up to be the most chaotic, provocative, and fun album of the year

The most unpredictable band in the new British rock scene announces its second album, *Cancel Me (I’m Tired)*, and unveils an explosive first single that confirms they’re still playing with chaos like no one else. If WOOF. made them the breakout act of 2024, now they want to prove they have no intention of settling down.

At a time when many bands carefully calculate their every move so as not to offend anyone, Fat Dog has decided to name their second album with a title that seems tailor-made to set the internet ablaze: Cancel Me (I’m Tired).

A provocation.

A joke.

A Critique of Cancel Culture.

Or maybe all at once.

The truth is that the London-based band has just officially announced its highly anticipated second album, which will be released on October 2 via “Domino Records,” along with a first single that once again demonstrates why they have become one of the most exciting bands in the United Kingdom.

After “WOOF.,” the question was: What now?

It wasn’t easy to get over the shock of WOOF..

Released in 2024 and produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Fontaines D.C., Blur, Depeche Mode), that debut was a veritable ticking time bomb that blended post-punk, techno, industrial electronic music, ’90s rave, and the most rowdy rock imaginable.

Fat Dog didn’t seem like a band destined to sell millions of albums.

They looked like a wonderful accident.

Their concerts quickly became a cult experience, featuring endless mosh pits, costumes, absurd humor, and an energy that many compared to the early years of The Prodigy, LCD Soundsystem, or even Gogol Bordello.

The challenge was clear.

How can you follow up such a wild debut?

The answer seems simple.

Doing exactly whatever they want.

“Cancel Me (I’m Tired)”: an album born of exhaustion… and excess

Over the past two years, Fat Dog has hardly stopped.

They’ve toured the United States and Europe, played at some of the biggest festivals on the alternative circuit, and this week they’re opening for the Foo Fighters at several European stadium shows before kicking off their own new tour.

That frenetic pace eventually took its toll.

Joe Love himself—the group’s lead singer and main songwriter—acknowledges that during that U.S. tour, each member of the band went through their own moment of crisis.

There was physical exhaustion.

Minor mental breakdowns.

But there were also impromptu weddings in Las Vegas, unexpected romances, and a host of experiences that eventually became songs.

All that chaos fuels an album that explores addiction, family relationships, artificial intelligence, aliens, love, identity, and popular culture—all without ever losing its sense of humor.

The new single still sounds like a party that’s gotten out of control

Along with the album announcement comes the title track.

“Cancel Me (I’m Tired)” kicks off with a statement that’s impossible to ignore:

“If you want to cancel me… then go ahead and do it, please.”

Far from seeking gratuitous controversy, the song plays on media overload and the feeling of constantly living under public scrutiny.

Musically, it’s pure Fat Dog.

Explosive electronic beats.

Trousers that look like they were designed for a Berlin club.

Crazy guitars.

And an album that blends psychedelia, techno, post-punk, and rock without asking any purists for permission.

Joe Love explained that the song was inspired by imagining what Altın Gün would sound like if they were trapped inside a gigantic electronic music beat, drawing further inspiration from the intensity of John Lennon’s “How Do You Sleep?”

The band that has brought back the element of surprise to British rock

One of Fat Dog’s greatest strengths is that it’s practically impossible to predict what they’ll do next.

Their music draws inspiration from punk.

Techno.

Synth-pop.

Krautrock.

Industrial rock.

From the rave.

Psychedelic folk.

And yet it still manages to sound coherent.

Domino Records itself describes the new album as a mix of electro-punk, art-pop, rock ‘n’ roll, space country, and psychedelia—a description that seems exaggerated… until you listen to the album.

Tracklist for “Cancel Me (I’m Tired)”

Just by reading the titles, it’s already clear that Fat Dog continues to play with absurdity, irony, and that touch of surrealism that defines his entire creative universe.

2026 could definitely be your year

If *WOOF.* helped make them the big breakthrough in British rock, Cancel Me (I’m Tired) seems to be the album with which they aim to establish themselves as one of the most original bands on the international scene.

In a landscape where many alternative projects end up sounding similar, Fat Dog continues to take risks.

And that, right in the middle of 2026, is almost revolutionary.

LoffMusic’s opinion

Fat Dog is one of those rare bands that still manage to surprise us.

Not because they’re trying to be extravagant.

But rather because they make music without worrying too much about fitting into any particular genre.

The title of his new album may seem provocative.

But, in reality, it serves as a declaration of freedom.

While others try to please the algorithm, Fat Dog continues to make waves.

And I hope they never stop doing it.
