Instrumental music can also tell stories and connect with the deepest part of those who listen to it. This is demonstrated by Galician pianist and composer Elsa Muñiz, who begins a new artistic stage with the release of her second album, “New Beginnings”, a project that goes beyond music and that will take her to tour Spain with a series of concerts between 2025 and 2026.
The starting point will be this August 31 at the Festival de la Luz (Boimorto, A Coruña), where he will share the bill with artists such as Rigoberta Bandini, Rozalén, Ariel Rot, Coti, Depedro and Tanxugueiras. Afterwards, the tour will continue to Lugo, Santiago de Compostela, Ourense and other cities to be announced soon.
New Beginnings: a book-disc that beats from an intimate point of view
Released on June 27, New Beginnings is not just an album: it is a book-disc that includes nine micro-stories and nine calligrams, complementing each composition with words and images that reflect the emotional journey that Elsa proposes. Throughout her nine instrumental pieces, she addresses universal themes such as rebirth, making courageous decisions, mental health, loss, hope and the celebration of the present.
One of the most powerful moments of the project is the piece that gives title to the album: “New Beginnings”, a composition that represents the exact moment in which the artist decides to break with the established to bet on her true vocation. The song is accompanied by a videoclip shot in Boiro, her hometown, on a quiet beach of golden sand and calm waters, where the image of Elsa in front of the sea and a grand piano creates an intimate, powerful and deeply Galician atmosphere.
Pianotelling: when music narrates
Elsa Muñiz has coined her own concept: pianotelling. It is not a genre, but an interdisciplinary sensory experience where music and narrative intertwine. “The piano doesn’t just accompany: it speaks,” explains the composer. Each piece is connected to a story, generating emotional atmospheres that invite introspection, pause and deep connection with oneself.
In a time when emotions seem to be consumed quickly, Muñiz proposes to stop and listen: music that builds images, stories and emotions. His goal is to break down the barriers of academic music to turn it into an accessible, close and authentic language.

A project with roots, soul and future
With New Beginnings, Elsa Muñiz consolidates her artistic identity within contemporary instrumental music. After the success of her debut “Memories” (2018), with which she surpassed 3 million listens on Spotify, this new work reinforces her commitment to emotion, authenticity and connection with her Galician roots.
The artist has also stood out for projects such as “Presentimiento” ( 2024), an audiovisual tribute recorded on a raft in the Ría de Arousa in memory of her father and the workers of the sea, a piece that demonstrates the depth and honesty that define her work.
