The music world is upside down! Brian D’Addario, the mastermind behind The Lemon Twigs, has dropped a bombshell with the announcement of his first solo album, titled ‘Till The Morning’. This project, which promises to shake up the industry, has blown everyone away with its first single, a musical gem loaded with romanticism and nostalgia that evokes the essence of The Kinks, The Beatles and Bob Dylan.
The track ‘Till The Morning’ is a masterpiece with a powerful bass, a piano with a retro vibe and passionate lyrics in which Brian sings with heartbreaking emotion: “Your lips they surround me in a halo of dreams / They show me things my eyes never could’ve seen”. Undoubtedly, this hymn to love will melt even the coldest hearts.
But that’s not all. The music video, directed by his brother and loyal bandmate, Michael D’Addario, transports us to a dream world with Brian playing the guitar in a park surrounded by an almost magical nature. An image that will remain etched in the minds of fans.
In a statement that left many pondering, Brian explained the powerful inspiration behind the song, “It’s a love song about those fleeting moments when you manage to grab hold of something real amidst all the noise and hype. ‘The night is completely dark until morning.’ Maybe things have to collapse completely before they get better.'”
The album ‘Till The Morning’, due March 20 on Headstock Records, was co-produced with his inseparable brother Michael. But don’t panic: this release is not the breakup of The Lemon Twigs, but rather an artistic experiment that promises to leave its mark. Michael has been more than present on the project, contributing harmonies and singing on two of the album’s tracks.
This album has been conceived and recorded in multiple studios and states, addressing intense themes such as spiritual quest, loneliness, social responsibility, karma and loss. Brian has described his sound as “baroque country”, a fusion that promises to be a before and after in his career.
And as if all that wasn’t enough, ‘Till The Morning’ includes two high-profile collaborations with legendary LA poet Stephen Kalinich, known for his work with The Beach Boys. Brian recalled how his connection with Kalinich was born in 2017 after a show in LA. “When I read the words to ‘What You Are Is Beautiful,’ I felt they already had a musicality of their own. The same thing happened with ‘Song Of Everyone,'” the artist revealed.
