Son & Mar Vigo is a new music festival that will transform the Transatlánticos pier into a large outdoor stage from September 4 to 13. The program is organized into six themed days, each with its own identity: Born to Dance (September 4), dedicated to disco music; Those Wonderful ’90s (September 5), featuring a journey through the greatest pop and rock hits of the ’90s; “El Campus” (September 10), aimed at university students; and La Movida Viguesa (September 12), a tribute to the musical movement that shaped the city’s cultural identity in the 1980s, featuring Golpes Bajos, Semen Up, Miguel Costas (Siniestro Total), Killer Barbies, and Stoned At Pompeii.
The series also includes two other events with their own distinct identities: Lingua Urbana, featuring Hard GZ (September 11), and Orballo Cultural (September 13), a day dedicated to traditional Galician music.
As part of the Concertos do Xacobeo, Son & Mar Vigo will bring together nearly 50 artists in a program that combines different musical styles and audiences, transforming the port of Vigo into a meeting point for culture, leisure, and heritage. The series was created with the aim of establishing itself as a new landmark event in Galicia’s musical calendar, with a lineup that is mostly free of charge and enhances the city’s cultural and tourist appeal.
