Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny has set a new milestone in his music career. His hit “Vete” has officially surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the 16th song by the artist to reach this figure. This achievement consolidates Bad Bunny as the first Latin artist to have more than 15 songs with more than 1 billion plays on the platform, as confirmed by Billboard Spain on its website.
Released in November 2019 under the Rimas Entertainment label, “Vete” was the lead single from Bad Bunny’s second solo studio album, YHLQMDLG (2020). This album, whose acronym stands for Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana, has surpassed 10 billion streams on Spotify, becoming his second album to reach this milestone after Un Verano Sin Ti. This latest album, which has accumulated more than 16 billion plays, includes hits such as “Dákiti” with Jhayco, which leads with more than 2 billion streams, as well as tracks such as “Tití me preguntó”, “Moscow Mule” and “Ojitos lindos” with Bomba Estéreo.
“Vete” is a powerful heartbreak ballad that highlights Bad Bunny’s intense vocal delivery, capturing the raw and bitter emotions of a breakup. The track, with its catchy hook and characteristic reggaeton rhythms, conveys the anguish and final resolution of a relationship that has come to an end.
According to a report by NoMusica on June 18 of this year, Bad Bunny ranks as the third most streamed artist on Spotify, behind Drake in first place and Taylor Swift in second place.
In addition to its impressive streaming performance, “Vete” also scored multiple achievements on the Billboard charts, reaching No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay. The song also reached No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100, the all-genre chart. In 2020, “Vete” was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in the Record of the Year category, highlighting its impact on both the music market and critics.
