First images of Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen in artist biopic

Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in “The Bear,” will play Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” directed by Scott Cooper (“Crazy Heart”). The film, based on the 2023 book “Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska” by Warren Zanes, will explore the creation of the 1982 album “Nebraska.” Jon Landau, Springsteen’s storied music manager, will be played by Jeremy Strong, known for his roles on “Succession” and “The Apprentice.”

The film, to be released in 2025, follows the recent Disney+ concert film, “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.” In recent years, we have seen Austin Butler play Elvis Presley, Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan in the upcoming “A Complete Unknown,” Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Taron Egerton as Elton John in “Rocketman.”

Cooper stated in April that “Nebraska” had a “profound impact” on him and his work. He said, “Through themes of despair, disillusionment and the struggles of ordinary Americans, Bruce has formed an incomparable legacy, painting an unrelenting portrait of the human condition…. Yet amidst the darkness, a sense of resilience and hope shines through, reflecting an indomitable spirit. That is the Bruce I have come to know and love, and will honor with this film.”
