“Así Bailaban Los Muertos”: a hymn to the most honest freedom.
DELACUEVA does not sing to death, but to life. In his new single “Así Bailaban Los Muertos”, the artist from Zaragoza launches a message as clear as brave:
“Fuck what people think.”
Far from the funereal that the title might suggest, the song is built as a luminous hymn to personal authenticity. With a look that combines maturity and tenderness, the artist proposes a reflection: if the dead are already freed from expectations, why do we, the living, continue to dance in fear?
Organic sound, electric message
Musically, the song opens a new window in the sound universe of the Zaragozan. On a base of 12-string acoustic guitars, mandolins and orchestral arrangements, DELACUEVA draws a soundscape that evokes Peter Gabriel, Tom Petty, The 1975 or even Coldplay, but with his own stamp: close, warm, vibrant.
This new production approach, by Noel Campillo, reinforces a vitalist message: to live without impostures, with your heart in your mouth and your feet ready to dance.
A video clip descending from the sky
The music video, available since June 12 and directed by Vanilla Bloom, translates the song’s philosophy into an emotional choreography. Shot in black and white and in sequence, it starts on a rooftop and descends between urban lights, until it reunites DELACUEVA with his band.
Each shot captures the central idea: every light in the city represents a life, a story, a reason to celebrate. An ode to living without filters, as if every night were the last and every song the first.
DELACUEVA: honesty on stage
With this fifth advance of his first solo album, DELACUEVA reaffirms his commitment to music as a performing art and not as an immediate product. After a tour in the spring of 2024 where he presented live all his unreleased songs before publishing them, the Zaragozan made his philosophy clear:
“My songs deserve to be released in theaters, live. It’s the first time in my life that I know these songs are the dick.”
Winner of the Aragonese Music Awards and Spanish representative at the Dubai Universal Expo 2022, DELACUEVA moves away from the noise of virality to devote itself to emotion, sincere music and live music as a space of truth.
