The flamenco dancer and choreographer Sara Baras<\/strong> successfully ends the second season<\/strong> of her show “Alma<\/strong>” at the EDP Gran V\u00eda Theater<\/strong> in Madrid<\/strong>. After the great reception during the first season in September last year, the artist from Cadiz hung the “sold out<\/strong>” sign from May 4 to June 4<\/strong>, extending the show for an additional week.<\/p>\n\n

“Alma<\/strong>” is, undoubtedly, one of the most celebrated shows of the dancer. Sara Baras<\/strong> all over the world, receiving the best reviews from the public and the specialized press in cities such as Sydney<\/strong>, Miami<\/strong>, New York<\/strong>, Washington<\/strong> or Budapest<\/strong>, where he also sold out his performances, which have been classified as historic by flamenco experts.<\/p>\n\n

International media such as El Mundo<\/strong> commented the following: “With “Alma” she has drawn a flamenco portrait of the different individual identities of the bolero, which, added together, reflect the Hispanic-American identity, which brings us to the corollary of the double achievement of the artist from Cadiz. On the one hand, by discovering parallelism with her dancing, she has built her own identity, that of the mirror that reflects those attributes that make her the most international of all dancers today. And on the other hand, the one that she herself builds to adapt to the environment, a merit that only the chosen ones can prove.<\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n

Written, directed and choreographed by the artist herself, “Alma<\/strong>” fuses the melodies of the most recognized boleros with the most traditional flamenco “palos” (flamenco forms) and features the special collaboration of other great flamenco artists<\/strong> such as Juana la del Pipa<\/strong>, Israel Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, Rancapino Chico<\/strong>, Alex Romero<\/strong> and Jos\u00e9 Manuel Posada “Popo”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The renowned artist will perform again surrounded by her unbeatable corps de ballet and a talented cast of musicians, under the musical direction of Keko Baldomero<\/strong>, continuing his Spanish tour at Huelva<\/strong> and La L\u00ednea de la Concepci\u00f3n<\/strong> before traveling to present “Alma<\/strong>” in London<\/strong> and start his summer tour<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n
