American singer and producer Skrillex<\/strong> has had one of the most intense weekends of his life, releasing two albums and performing at Madison Square Garden<\/strong> in New York<\/strong>. On Friday he released his previously announced \n \n \n Quest For Fire<\/a>\n <\/strong>\n <\/em>\n<\/span> (Owsla\/Atlantic, 2023) but 24 hours later he surprised everyone by releasing a new LP entitled \n \n \n Don’t Get Too Close<\/a>\n <\/em>\n <\/span>\n<\/strong> (Owsla\/Atlantic, 2023), without prior announcement.<\/p>\n\n

The second album features collaborations with<\/strong> Yung Len<\/strong>, Bladee<\/strong>, Chief Keef<\/strong>, Justin Bieber<\/strong>, PinkPantheress<\/strong>, Trippie Redd<\/strong>, Bibi Bourelly<\/strong> and Kid Cudi<\/strong>, among others. Prior to his premiere, the Los Angeles<\/strong> artist performed an impromptu set from a bus in Times Square<\/strong>, generating a buzz among passersby, who recorded his show with their cell phones.<\/p>\n\n

After his solo debut almost a decade ago with the full-length feature film \n \n \n Recess<\/a>\n <\/em>\n <\/span>\n<\/strong> (Owsla\/Atlantic, 2014), the former member of the post-hardcore band From First to Last<\/strong> returned on Friday with such standout songs as ‘Ratata<\/strong>‘ with Missy Elliott<\/strong> and Mr.Oizo<\/strong>, as well as other guests such as Potter Robinson<\/strong>, Pete Wentz<\/strong>, Aluna<\/strong>, Bibi Bourelly<\/strong> and Beam<\/strong>, among others. It also includes the singles ‘Butterflies<\/strong>‘ (featuring Starrah and Four Tet), ‘Too Bizarre<\/strong>‘ (featuring Swae Lee and Sickbrain) and ‘Rumble<\/strong>‘ (featuring Fred Again).<\/p>\n\n

Next June<\/strong> we will be lucky enough to see him live in our country, specifically on the 2nd and 9th<\/strong> when he will be on stage at the macro festival Primavera Sound<\/strong> in its editions of Barcelona<\/strong> and Madrid<\/strong>. First it will be at the Parc del F\u00f2rum<\/strong> and a week later it will be at the Ciudad del Rock<\/strong> in Arganda del Rey<\/strong>, appointments marked in red in our particular musical calendar.<\/p>\n\n
