The singer-songwriter returns after *Veintitantos* with a new song produced by Josemi Carmona. A story of love, memories, and goodbyes that finds its best expression in the guitar and simplicity.

Some loves come to an end, but they never truly fade away.

They linger in a song, a place, or that memory that pops up when we least expect it.

That feeling gave rise to “Levante, ” the new single by Víctor Martín, a singer-songwriter who focuses on emotion, carefully crafted melodies, and stories that don’t need elaborate embellishments to connect with his listeners.

Following his debut with Veintitantos, the musician returns with a composition that looks toward the Mediterranean and uses the wind as a metaphor for relationships that come and go.

And he does so alongside a key figure in our music scene: Josemi Carmona, who is in charge of production.

“Levante” is about a love that goes back and forth.

One of those relationships that leave a lasting impression even after they seem to have ended.

Víctor Martín wanted to tell that story from a personal perspective, making room for the guitar, the melody, and the lyrics.

The artist himself explains the song’s origin as follows:

“‘Levante’ was inspired by thoughts of those loves that don’t stay, but don’t completely fade away either. I wanted to write it without artifice, with just my guitar and the truth leading the way, as if I were telling a story in a low voice.”

The image of the Mediterranean wind serves as a unifying theme.

The easterly wind arrives, changes the atmosphere, and then blows away again.

Just like some people.

Like certain memories.

Like those stories we think we’ve left behind until something brings them back to life.

One of the most interesting aspects of this release is the collaboration with Josemi Carmona, a musician and producer known for his work with Ketama and his ability to bridge different musical traditions.

In “Levante,” the concept is based on a simple idea: to allow the song to retain its intimacy.

Víctor Martín places special emphasis on that creative connection:

“Working with Josemi was a gift: he understood right from the start that the song needed to breathe.”

Production thus plays a vital role.

It’s not about filling every space, but about finding the balance between the performance, the instruments, and the emotion.

A philosophy that fits in with the tradition of the great singer-songwriters, where a melody and a good story can be enough to carry a song.

Víctor Martín belongs to a generation of musicians who combine a solid musical education with influences from different styles.

He graduated with honors with a degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston, one of the most internationally renowned music institutions.

His work falls within the realm of contemporary singer-songwriter music.

It features references to artists such as Jorge Drexler, Antonio Vega, John Mayer, and Jacob Collier—musicians who, despite their very different styles, share a special focus on composition and performance.

It also draws on the tradition of singer-songwriters such as Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Croce, for whom the guitar and storytelling were essential tools.

But the real challenge for Víctor Martín isn’t in emulating his role models.

It’s about building one’s own identity.

And songs like “Levante” point precisely in that direction.

With *Veintitantos*, Víctor Martín established his artistic direction.

Now, “Levante” continues that journey from a particularly intimate perspective.

The single is about feelings that everyone can relate to, without turning them into grand declarations.

There is nostalgia, but also serenity.

There is a farewell, but not necessarily a definitive ending.

And there is one idea that runs through the entire composition: some people leave a mark that remains even after they are gone.

Maybe that’s why the title works so well.

Because the wind never stands still.

And because there are memories that, like the east wind, always find a way to return.

“Levante” is now available on digital platforms.

“Levante” and When a Love Story Becomes a Song
