When Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds said their Wild God<\/em> album (2024) would be the start of a new chapter, little did we know that chapter would also include a “battle record.” Now, that record is about to arrive: Live God<\/em>, a live album recorded during the 2024-25 tour, will see the light of day on December 5, 2025<\/strong> via PIAS. <\/p>\n\n

This is not a simple “live album”. It is a transitional work, a testimony of a band in a state of grace, where theater, darkness, communion and catharsis converge on the same stage. <\/p>\n\n

Engraved on the road, forged in the fire<\/h2>\n\n

The Wild God<\/em> tour marked the return of the Bad Seeds to territories they had not been to for years. As the chronicles indicate, it was “a kind of antidote to despair”. Live God<\/em> captures that pulse: 18 songs, many backed by the audience, with classics like Red Right Hand, along with freshly mashed material like the title track itself. <\/p>\n\n

The band, composed of Nick Cave along with Warren Ellis, Colin Greenwood, Jim Sclavunos, George Vjestica, Larry Mullins and Carly Paradis<\/strong>, brings both dynamism and shadow. Live, the duality – color vs. gloom, noise vs. silence – takes on its fullest form. <\/p>\n\n
