Haim add another gem to their catalog: “Tie You Down”, a single in collaboration with Bon Iver (Justin Vernon), which will be part of the deluxe version of I Quit, due out October 17 on Columbia.

The song is a duet between Danielle Haim and Vernon, with production shared between them and Rostam Batmanglij, and joins two other unreleased tracks accompanying the expanded edition: “The Story of Us” and “Even the Bad Times”.

A crossroads: Haim + Bon Iver

The meeting between Danielle and Justin is not accidental. This duet resumes the artistic complicity that already manifested itself in Sable, Fable, where they collaborated on “If Only I Could Wait”.

Musically, “Tie You Down” plays with an introspective atmosphere: warm harmonies, shared vocals and a restrained tempo that bets on emotion rather than excessive drama.

The track shows a delicate post: the desire for someone to remain, the tension of “tying without tying”, of loving without possessing. Haim have already shown that they are not afraid to explore sonic vulnerability, and here they do it hand in hand with Bon Iver‘s ethereal and melancholic style.

I Quit Deluxe: a bonus chapter

The standard version of I Quit was released on June 20, 2025 and includes 15 tracks produced by Danielle Haim and Rostam Batmanglij.(Wikipedia) With Tie You Down and the other two unreleased tracks, the deluxe edition expands that universe.(Under the Radar Magazine)

The complete deluxe tracklist appears as follows: the 15 original tracks + “Tie You Down”, “The Story of Us” and “Even the Bad Times”.

To accompany the release, Haim will once again take to the TV stage: they will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the week following the release.

Why does this single matter?

 • The union of two worlds: the sound of Haim with the sensibility of Bon Iver creates a chemistry that goes beyond the sum of voices.

 • It is also a gesture of artistic expansion: instead of following only their sound line, Haim allow themselves to explore crossed territories with substantial collaborations.

 • It means a boost for I Quit, which ceases to be simply an album and becomes a prolonged sonic experience.

 • In the age of deluxe content and reissues, it’s not just marketing: these kinds of collaborations can revitalize interest, especially when they are musically genuine.
