Following its acclaimed run at the Tribeca Film Festival, Depeche Mode<\/strong>‘s new documentary\/concert, simply titled “M,”<\/strong> now has a worldwide release date: October 28<\/strong>. And it won’t be just any release. The film will arrive in IMAX<\/strong> format and will be screened in more than 2,500<\/strong> theaters internationally. <\/p>\n\n What began as a series of massive concerts in Mexico City<\/strong> has turned into one of the most anticipated cinematic experiences of the year.<\/p>\n\n M<\/em> was directed by Mexican filmmaker Fernando Fr\u00edas de la Parra<\/strong>, responsible for such gems as Ya no estoy aqu\u00ed<\/em>, and documents the three consecutive nights<\/strong> Depeche Mode<\/strong> performed in 2023 at the Estadio GNP Seguros (formerly Foro Sol) as part of their Memento Mori<\/em> tour. But it goes far beyond a simple live record. <\/p>\n\n “This film is about the connection between music, culture and people,”<\/strong> explained Dave Gahan<\/strong>. And under Frias’ poetic and cinematic eye, that’s exactly what he achieves. M<\/em> is a journey between the devotion of the Mexican audience, the legacy of a band that continues to reinvent itself, and the latent shadow of Andy Fletcher<\/strong>, whose absence permeates everything with restrained emotion. <\/p>\n\n The release of Depeche Mode: M<\/em> will be made possible by Sony Music Vision<\/strong> and Trafalgar Releasing<\/strong>, who are repeating the formula after the success of other recent music documentaries.<\/p>\n\n Marc Allenby<\/strong>, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, defines it this way:<\/p>\n\n “This cinematic experience celebrates not only the Memento Mori<\/em> tour, but the deep bond that unites Depeche Mode with its global audience.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n For those who lived those nights in Mexico, it will be a way to relive the magic.
